Start your engines! The Moto Report set to become CounterPress's first motorsport site

The Moto Report members can look forward to comprehensive coverage on a wide range of motorbike racing series, offering news, unique insight, long-form features, opinion and detailed analysis, alongside the occasional historical piece.

CounterPress is set to break new ground with the launch of the very first motorsport site on the platform.

The Moto Report launches on CounterPress in early October, delivering news, exclusive interviews, features and opinion pieces on all the main disciplines of motorbike racing.

The site is fronted by journalist Henry Cheal, a lifelong motorbike racing enthusiast whose passion for all things two-wheeled began as far back as he can remember. He spent his childhood going to a wide range of races as a fan, whether it was in the terraced grandstand at Silverstone for MotoGP or in a deckchair at Cadwell Park for British Superbikes. Henry lives and breathes through it all.

That passion has since translated into a career, having previously freelanced for Motorsport Week and securing opportunities to attend races as accredited media in both MotoGP and World Superbikes. His proudest career moment with the publication was interviewing six-time WorldSBK champion Jonathan Rea.

The Moto Report members can look forward to comprehensive coverage on a wide range of motorbike racing series, offering news, unique insight, long-form features, opinion and detailed analysis, alongside the occasional historical piece.

No motorbike racing series is the same, with each offering its own talking points, storylines and narratives. That variety creates countless different talking points and narratives to explore, bringing a fresh perspective.

"There’s so much more to motorbike racing than what happens on track, and I want to explore the people, personalities and stories tailored to each discipline."

Henry Cheal, The Moto Report

Henry said: “I’m extremely excited to launch The Moto Report with CounterPress – an outlet dedicated to all things two-wheeled.

“Motorbikes have always been a part of my identity, so firstly, I want to express my gratitude to CounterPress for its help and backing in making this happen. I believe this unique opportunity gives me the chance to offer something different in this very small world, one that I believe should only continue to grow in the years to come.

“The journalism landscape is always changing, and having seen other excellent titles be commissioned, this gives me a platform to build something unique in a space that deserves far more attention than it currently does.

“My goal is for The Moto Report to be a place where readers can discover stories they may not find themselves, while still providing the coverage and insight they expect from a dedicated racing outlet.

“There’s so much more to motorbike racing than what happens on track, and I want to explore the people, personalities and stories tailored to each discipline. In time, I hope this becomes a trusted home for two-wheeled racing journalism.”

The Moto Report's early interest waiting list is now open ahead of a full launch in early October.

Motorsport fans keen to explore the platform can add their details to the mailing list today.

The Moto Report becomes the first motorsport title to launch on CounterPress, taking the number of sports covered by the platform to seven.

Football, cricket, rugby union, futsal, esports and badminton are already represented on the network, with further expansion into rugby league and horse racing planned for later this year.

CounterPress offers the technical infrastructure and industry knowledge and support that journalists and creators need to build their own media brand.

There are now more than 50 independent sports sites signed up with the platform after a period of rapid expansion.

"We’re here to give Henry real, human support, built on knowledge of what it takes to develop and sustain independent titles. I can’t wait to watch him thrive."

Sam Morshead, CounterPress

Co-founder Sam Morshead said: “CounterPress has been built to support a range of projects, and The Moto Report gives us our first opportunity to venture into the world of motorsport.

“Henry has passion for and knowledge of the series he’s going to cover for his title, and we’re delighted to be able to help him with the technical infrastructure and weight of experience in the industry he’ll need to lean on as he builds out his brand.

“Too often in modern media ecosystems, young journalists are being left to fend for themselves - this is leading to rising drop-off rates and talent drain.

“We’re here to give Henry real, human support, built on knowledge of what it takes to develop and sustain independent titles. I can’t wait to watch him thrive.”

Be a part of change.
