Lanky, Lanky is set to open its doors for business on CounterPress in February, providing colour, analysis and opinion on events at Old Trafford and across the wider region.
The site is the brainchild of cricket journalists Paul Edwards and Graham Hardcastle, who between them boast more than 40 years' experience reporting on and writing about the intricacies of the county game.

Supporters will be able to register their interest in becoming a Lanky, Lanky member from December 1, prior to a full launch on February 1.
Hardcastle said: “Since first reporting on Lancashire in 2005, I've covered the men winning the County Championship and the T20 Blast and, more recently, the women winning the double this summer.
“Fingers crossed, there's more of that to come in the next few years. We can't wait to chronicle that journey as well as much, much more.”
Edwards said: “A county cricket club is far richer in character, history and the broader human comedy than the conventional print media can reflect. Graham and I aim to dig deep into life at Old Trafford and bring readers features, profiles and reportage they won't find elsewhere.
“We're independent journalists who value our freedom while also understanding that it's a privilege to do our job. Whether Lancashire succeed or stumble, we'll be there to write about it.”
Lanky, Lanky is one of a host of independent county cricket outlets set to launch in 2026, as CounterPress empowers journalists, reporters and creators to revitalise coverage of England's summer sport.

Lanky, Lanky is the fourth county cricket outlet to be announced on CounterPress.
The Hawk will continue to provide coverage of Hampshire throughout the winter, while The Chester - covering Durham - will reopen for the new season from March 1.
From The Sea End, providing a service for Sussex fans, is due to launch on February 1.
